Inside every countertop Enagic machine sits the FC1 filter. It cleans your tap water before electrolysis, and it is built to last a good while — roughly 5,700 litres (about 1,500 gallons).
What the FC1 does
The FC1 is your machine's internal filter. As tap water passes through, the filter reduces things you would rather not taste, so the water going into the cell — and into your glass — starts clean. Good filtration is a big part of why fresh Kangen water tastes the way it does.
When to change it
A built-in sensor tracks how much water you have made and reminds you when the FC1 is due. For an average family, that works out to roughly once a year. Heavy use comes sooner, lighter use later — the machine counts for you, so you do not have to guess.
Do not leave a reminder ignored for weeks. Changing the FC1 on time keeps the taste at its best.
How to swap it
The change takes only a few minutes and no tools:
- Turn off the water and open the front panel
- Unscrew the old FC1 and lift it out
- Fit the new cartridge and close up
- Run water briefly to rinse and reset the counter
