Understand these and the whole range makes sense. ### pH — how acidic or alkaline pH runs from 0 to 14. Below 7 is acidic, 7 is neutral, above 7 is alkaline. It is a logarithmic scale, so each whole step is a tenfold change. Your ioniser lets you dial the water from strongly acidic (~2.5) all the way to strongly alkaline (~11.0). ### ORP — oxidation-reduction potential ORP, measured in millivolts, describes whether water tends to give away electrons (a negative, "reducing" value) or take them (a positive, "oxidising" value).
