Your machine is not just for the kitchen. A few of its waters are lovely for houseplants and for keeping cut flowers looking fresh.

When you have a machine on the counter, watering the plants gets a little easier. You can pick the water to suit the plant instead of reaching for whatever is in the jug — a gentle way to use more of what your machine makes.

## Clean water for everyday houseplants

For most houseplants, **Clean/Neutral water (pH 7)** is a sensible everyday choice. It is the same gentle, neutral water you would happily drink, poured at room temperature. Fill your can, water as usual, and let the pot drain.

## Beauty Water for delicate ones

For more delicate plants, some people like to use *Beauty Water* (mildly acidic, around pH 4–6), served on the cooler side. It is not for drinking, but it is easy to make and a nice option to have when a fussy fern or orchid needs a gentler pour.

> Whatever the plant, water in the morning and empty the saucer afterwards — most houseplants prefer that to soggy roots.

## Keeping cut flowers fresh

Cut flowers appreciate clean water in a clean vase. Fill the vase with Clean/Neutral water, trim the stems, and change the water every couple of days. Keep the vase out of direct sun and away from ripening fruit, too. It is a simple habit that helps a bouquet look its best for longer.
